Mountain Biking

Roll straight from your cabin onto 70+ miles of world-class singletrack at Cuyuna Country. Winding through lush pines, rolling prairies, and turquoise mine lakes, these trails welcome all riders—from beginners to pros.

Once a booming mining region, Cuyuna is now a renowned biking destination, featured by REI and Outdoor Magazine. As you ride, take in towering pines, cliffside views, and crystal-clear waters, where submerged trees still stand—a hauntingly beautiful glimpse into the past.

    • Beginner Riders:
      Explore the Sagamore Unit — 7 miles of universal/adaptive trails like Copper Nugget, Klondyke, and Blaster. The wide, red dirt trails are sure to make you smile!

    • Intermediate Thrills:
      For a bit more excitement, check out Bob Sled, Sand Hog, or Bison Run. These trails offer just the right amount of thrill for intermediate riders.

    • Advanced Riders:
      Test your skills on Sinter (jumps!), Sledgehammer (rocky!), or Cruser’s Kettle—a glacial wonderland!

Our five bungalows offer the perfect blend of adventure, comfort, and glamping style for those seeking a quiet escape in Minnesota’s great outdoors. Ideal for busy creatives, couples, or solo travelers.

    • Yawkey Mine Lake Walk: A literal morning coffee walk dream — Right out our door and 25 mins each way. Best morning ever.

    • Cuyuna Paved Trail: Walk to Overlook Point for stunning views.

Paddling

Paddle Cuyuna’s Mine Lakes are truly gorgeous. Rent a glass-bottom kayak or paddleboard and glide across spring-fed turquoise waters, where underwater forests still stand. (Local rentals with drop-off available!)

  • Pennington Mine Lake and Arco Mine Lake offer stunning kayaking or paddleboarding adventures.

Winter Activities

Cuyuna transforms into a snow-covered wonderland in the winter, offering snowshoeing, Altai skiing, fat tire biking, and peaceful winter walks along the frozen mine lakes. Over 30 miles of groomed singletrack trails make for an unforgettable winter adventure.

    • 2 sets of adult snowshoes are included in your stay.

    • Head to Cykel Cuyuna for Hok Ski rentals.

  • With over 70 miles of single track trails (>30 are groomed all winter long by local volunteers) right next to Cuyuna Cove, you won't find a more magical way to experience winter outdoors than in here.
